Winter has definitely begun here in Germany. We have already had our first snow. This photo I took earlier in the year so we aren’t quite to this level of snow yet. This is Burg Lichtenburg or also known as Kusel castle. I photograph here often because it is close to my home and love all the different views it offers. When I photographed this I purposely went out when it was snow covered because this is not a view that I usually see it in. We go here often, to photograph, do portraits, eat at the nice restaurant, and even to their medieval Christmas market they hold every year. It is a fun one to visit in my opinion.

I love how the snow adds to the beauty and magic of the castle. Photographing castles has become a project for me I guess. This year I photographed over 12 castles and made a 2016 Photo art calendar out of them, this one is featured as well. Castles aren’t unique to Germany but Germany has more than I believe most other countries in Europe. They hold such history and beauty that you can’t document Germany without photographing them.

I can’t believe this is my last calendar for the year! I guess you’ll have to come back and see what I have coming next year!
