October’s Calendar features a photo from my German travels.
This photo entitled “Autumn Leaves at Marksburg” is from my trip and tour of Marksburg castle. This castle is a picturesque German castle sitting above the Rhine river, which you can see in the background. From my understanding the castle is the only castle along the Rhine river that wasn’t destroyed. It has over 700 years of history. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Not only is the castle great to see and interesting to tour, the views from it are amazing. I took this photo last fall during my visit. I love how the color changing leaves with their bright oranges and yellows contrasted with the blues and greens of the trees and river below it. Just one of the many views possible from up on its hill. I have pictures of the castle itself in my German artwork section.
