June’s calendar is featuring beautiful view of the city of Salzburg, Austria.

Salzburg, Austria is one of those cities that have something different to offer every season. I have visited this city both in the summer and the winter and would definitely go again. In the winter time it boasts one of Europe’s largest Christmas markets when the city is full with vendors and strung all over with lights and decor. It full of life and amazing food and drink, I found pretzels the size of my head.

In the summer months is a great time to explore the city and all the amazing history it has to offer. We loved visiting the castle atop the hill, which is where this photo was taken. Castles like this were used as forts and you can see from this photo that the strategic advantage because you could see all around for miles from up here. There are also places to visit like Mozart’s home, two actually, because the famous composer was from Salzburg. There are a few different tours that might be of interest, for example you can take a Sound of Music tour and see where they filmed the famous movie or you could do just a pleasant ride around the city with one of the colorful carriage drivers and enjoy their personal tour of the city.

Whichever time of year you choose to visit, Salzburg is always beautiful and full of interesting things to take up your time.
