Continuing through this whole year of 2015, I’m offering my free downloadable desktop wallpaper calendars of my artwork every month.
In North-East Italy, in view of the Dolomites, fields of poppies pop up all over in fields dotting the countryside during the month of May. They only last a few weeks because they usually cover fields used for other crops by the farmers. This also means they can change which fields they are between years. I loved to go out finding which fields were full of these red flowers and photograph them. Take a drive through the country side a bit north of Venice, go exploring and find a great spot to see an amazing view like a field of red flowers towered by tall mountains.
